Is the upgrade worth it? My GTX 980 has started to struggle on Pcars 2 VR when racing online.

Happy to spend the money on a 1080 if there is a decent difference.

Thanks

Looking at this, on average its nearly 70% better.

If you have the money though its only a little more to the 1080TI

I'm running the TI at the moment and it is a beast!

Bear in mind that there is a new Nvidia chipset due out in a few weeks, GPU card makers have overstocked thanks to bitcoin demand falling, and the bitcoin miners that continue will want to upgrade their cards to the new (presumably more efficient) chipset.

I am still seeing a big difference in price from 1080 to 1080ti.

I can pick up a GeForce GTX 1080 Windforce OC for £399.99 delivered whereas the cheapest 1080ti I can get is £589.99 delivered (just to note I am VAT free).

When new cars are out will we see the 1080 and 1080ti drop in price do you think.

If you can afford it and it will enable you to enjoy the game more then why not?
Your 980 will still get you £200 on the second hand market if you want to use it to offset the cost of the new card.

We play PubG as a group of mates.

One of them went from an over clocked 980ti to a 1080 Zotac AMP extreme.

He plays at 1440p and is very happy with the improvement.

As said above, he sold his 980ti for good money.

Because I live on Jersey I get VAT off at checkout at most places smile if its not auto a quick email will see the VAT refunded. I do have to pay 5% on anything over £240 coming in though but still ok.

Listen to this dude.

I don't think 1080ti will drop in price, as 11xxti won't be due for a while. But 1080 will drop

this, if the 1180 is a release card which i would suspect it's best to wait for a comparison to the 1080 as should again be faster
