Last Time you unknowingly met a PHer??
Discussion
Just wondering when the last time you bumped into a stranger out there on the roads and got talking cars with them, only to discover that when you said,
"Have you heard of the website, pistonheads.com?"
They then said:
"Yep, I post on there as..."
Strange cos it happened to me for the first time the other day as I was chatting to a Noble owner in a pub car park, small world

i bumped into a p.h'er at the bp garage on london road, westcliff about a year ago.
i was admiring a lovely dark blue tiv on the forecourt and spoke to the owner,i mentioned about p.h and he said he was a member aswell.
i wasnt in my car at the time though as i'd only gone to the garage to get some cigs (the garage is right next door to where i live)
i feel bad though because i cant recall his p.h name at the moment.....its one of those cases where i can see the guy in my head but just cant remember his name.....aaaaaaaaaagh!

There was a supra owner who lives near by, was with my car out on the drive and he stopped,
window down and asked "do you know what colour that car is m8"
(as he was after getting one of his cars resprayed a similar colour)
and i replied "its reflex charcoal" - "you can come out and have a look if you like" -
his engine off, started a convo about the Tuscan..
he didn't think it was my car at all, until i said it was..
Got to the "Have you heard of the website, pistonheads.com?"
he replied "yes been on it a few times"
i replied "well i post on there, you should check it out"
shame he didn't get to the "Yep, I post on there as..."
Don't know if he will read this but

I met another Chimaera on a country lane and we both decided to stop and say hello! It was quickly established we were local to each other, both Phers and in no time at all he helped himself to my bonnet release and checked out my starter motor! It`s true but that doesn`t sound right does it?
Have since been on hoons together - hi Steve and Sue!

Well there's a PHer I met at a racetrack who didn't talk much, but the next most recent must be D_Mike. I'd been a member for nearly 2 years and suddenly I realised that a name on my karting club forum matched a PH name and it turns out they were one and the same.
*Slight thread hijack* It's been pointed out to me that 'apparently' we met at a race or kart meeting. I don't know if you told other people this, but I can catagorically state this isn't true fella - i'm not bothered but thought i'd clear it up
Cheers,
Rob.

, so he rummaged around the TVR Wedge forum until he found me and sent me an email...
I tried that.
