rear window clips

only had the beast 2 days... only real problem is getting the window back in - I just can't get the drivers side clip to bite - any magic cures I should know about? ta!

Hi, They can be a fiddle. I had to have one change at the forst service as it wouldnt do up at all. They get better with time as the ruber seal compresses but I found a large flat bladed screw drive with a mit of masking tape round the blade (incase it slips) lets you put more pressure on it and dosent chew your fingers up. Also give the window a really hard shove up into the top rail.

Make sure the screen is central, also try doing up the R/H catch first, it seems to work better that way on mine.

I was wondering when I may see that post! Hows it going m8? I'm really missing the car already. The screen does fit in, it just takes a bit of practice

Also remember its a brand new screen and had only been in and out twice before you got it. Make sure the screen is pushed in as far as it can go at the top and that it is centered perfectly, that always seemed to help me.

Hi Steve - yeah the window is a pain - I got caught out on Sunday morning in a light shower & need to get it on quick... ended up leaving it loose one side till I got home!!

You can also try moving the middle of the catch, on the bodywork side, if this is out of line it makes it harder to turn the key part - mine sometimes need a little tweak to make doing up the catch easier
