Shenmue I & II pre-order today!

Hi chaps. Surprise release date of 21st August. I just pre-ordered for Xbox at £25 for both games.

I believe they’re calling them “rerelease” rather than remaster, which admittedly sounds a little like a one-word disclaimer. They’ll be ‘HD’ 16:9 resolution, with enhanced post processing. Cut scenes will be 4:3 aspect. Gameplay will be updated with modern controllers in mind.

I’m not expecting God of War, but I’m super stoked to play through it all again, as I never completed the sequel. And with Shenmue III hopefully still on the horizon for next year, this is a perfect opportunity.

I’m sure they’ll feel very dated but I have a massive, gooey-centred soft spot for Shenmue, and £25 is in my “why not?” zone
