Sky Q box in TV cabinet

Noticed the fan whirring away on the Sky Q box whilst in standby mode last night.

It was in a cabinet with more room than the previous 10 year old HD box but oh my, the Q box was hot.

I've had to remove it from the cabinet but wondering if anyone else has ever checked how hot this thing gets.

They do get HOT.

version 2 of the 2tb Qbox has an external power pact to help cooling.

Ours gets very hot - and it has plenty of space around it for ventilation etc. Sky have said its normal - I'm not convinced though!

Worth remembering that it’s Sky’s problem if it packs up (aside from abuse).

I just stick mine behind the cabinet.
