I am in a predicament where my bike is now at my house and any car I have, I can't leave there so I need a cheap car that I can just leave at the house when I want to take my bike to work and then use it when the weather isn't great.

I don't really have any requirements apart from it must be auto and probably no more than £2k (cheaper the better).

What's going to be decent in this price range? My commute is 22 miles each way so not fussed on diesel unless it's a really good car and reliable.

I thought there'd be loads of cars but there's bugger all apart from crappy little hatchbacks. I just looked at a 2004 330ci with 105k up for £3400!! I paid less than that for one when I was about 19 years old (10 years ago).

Rover 75 CDT

Mine is worth £500 at very best, it's done 129,000 and drives great.

Leather, cruise, 40mpg, BMW engine, lovely big squashy seats!!

Miss out at your peril!

Why is this even a question when these are in range?

You're a few months too late OP!

I sold my 103K miles 325ti Sport for less than £1,500 in February.

At least as reliable as anything else down at that price range. Not that rare to seem them on big miles either.

145k on a 15 year old car? Doesnt sound unreasonable when there' a thread running celebrating 200k miles car. No such thing as a bad car, apparently, only bad owners.

The rest of your assertions are highly subjective!

Well if he doesn't like it, then nobody can. But he's right, 145k, might as well scrap it. Even though everything from Jags to Orions were doing 145k+ in the 80's and 90's, and let's ignore the fact that they go well past 200k.

I would be shocked if the OP did not have to put considerable money into that Jag over ownership, and I am not talking a few hundred quid.

If OP has set aside a budget for said costs (and it doesnt look like it going by the tone) then by all accounts buy a Jag, otherwise look elsewhere.
