White H Bar Marking

Just after a bit of info. I know H bar markings in front of dropped kerbs are only advisory and only enforceable by the police should the occupier report the contravention, or this is my understanding anyway.
If you have a scenario whereby the dropped kerb is in front of your neighbours driveway and it extends all the way in front of your own dri eway aswell (so you have driveways side by side and one long drop kerb), and there is a white h bar painted bit only in front of one driveway. Is this legal as I understand it has to start at the point where the kerb drops and end where it rises. Or am I wrong?
