Spark plugs?/over-fuelling?

Follow-up.
Called AA. V helpful chap used to work for Vauxhall.
Batt ok
Fuel supply/pump ok
Spark plugs sparking ok (ish - he said they were a bit orange rather than bright white. I've checked and they were not cahnged at second annual service 2 months ago. Also note wheel lock now missing since that service)
Pistons moving ok
He warmed and cleaned plugs/charged battery further/checked not immobiliser but still no go!
He wondered if it could be plugs or 'overfuelling' at start-up.
Upshot is low-loader coming today to take it to VX dealer.
Anyone had similar experience or actually know what might be going on?
