Advice on Ford Transit??

Not car buying but van buying - wasn't sure where to post this but need advice!

Am looking for a Ford Transit which I also want to use to tow a trailer. This would be the size of a small livestock trailer/horsebox.

So I am looking at the engine size which seem to average around but then there are different BHPs. I am not an expert in vehicles, hence me posting here, but am I right in thinking if I want to tow something the BHP needs to be relatively high? Some have 84, then 98/99, 113, then 123.

I'm looking at a van as opposed to another vehicle for towing as I actually need a van for van use as well!

If anyone knows or can advise it would be much appreciated.

Get the most powerful one you can find the extra torque will be a bonus and you'll get better fuel because you're not working the engine so hard.

Before you even start check the vehicle you propose to tow with is rated for the maximum towing weight. Horseboxes are heavy, particularly with a couple of horses.
Transits can tow from 700kg to 2,700kg depending on variant. And when you passed your driving test....
