Advice on purchasing a car
Discussion
Hello
I'm looking at getting another car in a couple of months and just wanted some advice on what would be the best purchase for the specs I'm looking at.
What I'm looking for:
- MPG (40+)
- Acceleration below 6s
- Max cost £19,000
- Year (2014+)
- Millage (Below 40,000)
Options I'm current considering:
BMW 335d
BMW 335d GT
BMW 125d
BMW M135i
Golf 7R DSG
Are it stands, depending on where my work is going to place me I could be travelling 100 miles per day or 10 miles. Mainly looking for Automatics but if there's a good deal I'll considering getting manual. This will be my second car, jumping from a Vauxhall Corsa 1.4 SXI to one a performance vehicle will be an interesting experience. Been driving for just over years.
Thanks in advance for your advice

As I'm sure you're aware what you buy will be dependent on mileage & what you want from your car.
If you're doing 100 miles a day then these 3 are where I'd be looking.
640d M Sport you'll have to break your 40k threshold but it's a very nice place to be:

If you're commute becomes shorter:
When it comes to the VAG options I'd take an older RS3 over the Golf R I found it a more interesting car than the Golf & obviously the depreciation is softer too & then there's the Engine
yes it'll be older but haggle hard & you could land one:
RS3

I was going to suggest an A45 but they still command a premium.
Back on budget:
S3

R

The 235i is a good shout but for me the RS3 edges it.

Insignia VXR

Out of the alternates list I'd be looking at the Jag & VXR fuel will realistically average 24-30mpg & on a run 32-38mpg
Test drives are the order of the day so you can decide what car suits you best (you have a decent time scale to do this) but try an RS3 as well.
