Tag Carrera changing date at the wrong time..
Discussion
Hi all,
Ive recently started to notice that my Tag Carrera is starting to switch to the next day at 9.30 in the evening, instead of 12.00
Its a 2008 calibre 16 movement just like this one -

the watch seems to keep good time apart from that. I was wondering if theres anything I can do? or should I take it to a specialist,
James.

I had this issue with mine not long after I purchased it. Sent it back to Tag at the time, they replaced the mechanism and advised not to change the date between 9pm and 3am. I never did that, so maybe it was mishandled when in the shop. You say you recently noticed, it is possible it has always done this? Never had the issue in the 10 years that I have had it.
Recently stopped running, a service solved it (told a service will fix 99% of issues).
As above, it does seem that someone has incorrectly set the date at some point and damaged the Calendar mechanism.
This watch in particular is notorious for it, not sure what they do with their 7750's to make them more susceptible to it, but they are.
If you haven't had it long, you could try sending it to LVMH as per the guy above.
If you have had it a while and it could be due to be serviced anyway, then feel free to give me a shout.

There are a lot of similar discussions on the internet concerning this problem, for example:

https://forums.watchuseek.com/f2/valjoux-7750-date...
Google 'changing date on eta 7750' for example.
I have a Laco Monte Carlo with this movement and Page & Cooper, the supplying dealer, actually advised me after I took delivery not to change the date when the hour was between 9 and 2.
It's a well known quirk of the 7750 as far as I understand it, it's fixable but the movement itself has a reputation of being difficult to work on. But it does have the rather strange but nice feature of the 'Valjoux wobble' which sometimes occurs when you move your wrist in a certain way.
