I have suffered from Conjunctivitis on and off for the last several years.
Mainly due to wearing contact lenses.
I have tried various over the counter and persciption remidies all to a better or lesser degree.
After a very bad episode and seeing the quack twice, and spending money on useless percriptions, I can now say that rinsing my eyes with diluted apple cider viniger works a treat!
God it stings!!!!! but by Jiminy does it get results! Eyes clear!!!!!!
I am not a doctor, not recommended for nursing mothers etc.......

1. This is utterly f
king daft advice.2. Get yourself to an optician and let them do some education on risks of corneal ulceration / abscess and other consequences of recurrent, badly-managed conjunctivitis (and contact lens use).
3. While you're there, get fitted for some glasses.

I suspect the lenses alone are not the root cause, either poor lens utilistion habits, overwearing, rubbing eyes with dirty hands etc. Plus you can pick conjunctivitis up from other people.
The only times I've had it as a direct result of lens wear was when I was taken to hospital in an emergency with no proper lens fluids or contact lens case. The staff suggested I put them in glasses with distilled water in as they wouldn't let me into theatre wearing them, and once I put them back in, I got conjunctivitis in both eyes within the space of about six hours.

I have had several visits to the optician
All of which recomended less wearing of contact lenses but could not come up with a reason for the repeated conjunctivitis.
I can only assume that I am more prone to this as I am getting on a bit....
Nether the less the above has sorted me out
Other cures are available.........

It's not a conjunctivitis, rather, it's not infective conjunctivitis. It's likely that you've got some ocular surface inflammation, as a consequence of ischaemia secondary to wearing your contact lenses. There may also be some tear film abnormalities and meibomian gland dysfunction. I'd go and see an ophthalmologist and get examined thoroughly. All of which recomended less wearing of contact lenses but could not come up with a reason for the repeated conjunctivitis.
