I think a lot on here are the same opinion as you. I've become more withdrawn mainly due to a rare skin problem manifesting itself and having to explain all the time.

There is nothing wrong with being introverted, just modern times favour brain dead extroversion.

I’m very happy just by myself, not that I dislike other people just that I don’t feel the need for company.

I’m much the same really. I spend 5 days per week being surrounded by people, I much prefer my downtime to be on my own, with my girlfriend or close friends.

I have developed an intense dislike of the entire human race and have very little to do with any of them these days.

I recognise I need human interaction to an extent. If there was an operation you could have to remove that need completely I'd be there like a shot.

I used to work nights, if there wasn't anyone working on a Saturday morning I could, if i chose to, avoid speaking to a single soul from 6am on a Friday morning until 10pm on the following Monday.

I was never that anti-social but it was always nice to have the choice...

Just a small percentage just now

We.have a drunken Englishman phoning our taxi company office telling us it's coming home

What were not quite sure but we're having a good try at guessing

Yep same here. Me and my wife don't generally interact too much with other people (outside immediate family and work colleagues). People just make everything worse and more complicated than it has to be.

The movie 'Passengers' with Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence........that would be our ideal scenario. She's half jokingly suggested we sign up for the 'married couple' one way Mars mission.

Quite a difference between socially awkward and simply preferring your own company. The general public has a high (and seemingly growing) proportion of generally scummy people, so its no surprise the more decent ones want nothing to do with them.

Live on my own, try to work on my own if possible, currently on holiday on my own. I like it.
It would be nice to have a partner now & again but I cant be doing with the compromises that entails.

I like spending time with people, but it sort of drains me. I need time on my own to recharge.

If I go on holiday, I can get a bit stroppy by the end as I've had no 'just me' time.

I was only being silly. You’re quite right that it’s not the same - I’m quite capable of interacting with other people, it’s just I often choose not to. .D

Yeah me as well, like my own company and generally find people hard work exceptions are close friends, some family and likeminded people who share my hobbies. This is my only form of social media and I work by myself a fair amount of the time as well.

Complete opposite. I enjoy the company of other human beings. I find it stimulating and fun - most of the time.

I actually work on my own most of the time so I tend to meet other people in social situations - which helps.

Sounds like you are a natural introvert (personality type, not shyness)

I get on with people, I'm outgoing at work, and I go for a few beers whenever the offer comes up. I have to work at it though, and given the choice I'd prefer to be with my family, or alone.

Nothing wrong with preferring your own company, or select few people. It doesn't mean you're shy or a grump, it's just what makes you happy.

Very simple to decide.

All you need to do is answer this question.

Do you live in a cave?

I think you’re all getting a bit confused. It is obviously perfectly normal to enjoy ones own company. It’s the non stop bombardment of the marketing industry telling you that you must always be partying and buying goods and services that has warped your perspective into thinking that it is always being out and about with others that is the norm when it manifestly isn’t.

We are a wide range of people and you only have to look at hobby types to see that the list caters for those who enjoy being on their own at times and those who enjoy being with others.

Just ignore all the immense marketing tripe that’s just trying to sell you total junk that you have no need for and no one can actually afford.
