... The team you support win the premiership or England win the world cup.

I asked this at work and had some interesting responses...

For me it’s the world cup. (WH fan)

I put it to the jury that England being successful in the World Cup will have knock on benefits to the whole of English football.

Club over country every time. Chelsea have been in 2 CL final pen shootouts, won one lost one. The best and worst football experiences of my life. No England WC shootout failure or success comes close.

I'd love England to win the WC, but if we lose this semi I will be less upset than Chelsea losing a semi in any cup competition.

Good question and it depends on the club you support, if you support a top 4 club, say Man City Or United, they could come second and not win the league but have another chance the year after, the World Cup is every 4 years and teams can dramatically change, Id probably pick the club as I’m an Arsenal fan.

A better question would be is what would the players prefer, Harry Kane for example, win the premiership or win the WC?

Unlikely to become Šír Harry by winning the Premiership. Loads of players will win the PL. But to be captain, and win the WC guarantees your fame and immortality.

Hibs for the SPL over Scotland winning the World Cup.

(both entirely rhetorical)

Maybe a year or two ago , but as a fellow Chelsea fan its no contest now. We've won it all in the last decade, more wins is just repeating whats already gone before but a World Cup win- wow , that would be amazing.

I dunno, if I stretch my imagination to its limits, I suppose Hibs could conceivably win the SPL.

If we can keep Neil Lennon, perhaps it would be possible, but yet again, same as most years, Celtic are after our best player and his centre-mid mate has already gone to Sunderland.

I'm Welsh and the team I support are nowhere near the premiership, so 2 = Not bothered and 1 = impossible!
