RAF 100 flypast - route?

I quite fancy finding somewhere to watch the RAF100 flypast tomorrow, but precise routing seems to be thin on the ground outside of central London. Seems a shame given it's billed as a 'once in a lifetime' opportunity etc. The route map doing the rounds in media is here:



Shame they can't list a few way-points and estimated flypast times, so it leaves folks outside London guessing. Hoping that map should give a good enough rough guide, but does anyone know if there's a precise route & timetable anywhere?

I think I read somewhere last week that they won't publish a direct route for security reasons. That said, the London route is pretty clear/obvious.

I work in Shoreditch but I don't want to stand craning my neck at the sky for a 1 second view between tall buildings, and I don't have access to any roof space, so I'm probably going to hop on the bike and try and get out near Vic Park somewhere in time.

Security reasons - as in someone taking a pop at the display!!? Find that unlikely I'm going to take a punt on a countryside spot NE of Chelmsford and hope it's close enough. Should be quite a sight

Don't shoot the messenger, that was just something an RAF person apparently said last week.

Waypoints have been published in the NOTAMS so not exactly a secret as they are in public domain.

Plot these northings and eastings on a map and draw a line between them for your route from East Anglia to East London.

These are waypoints for the Red Arrows with times, which are Zulu or GMT so add an hour to get BST, and the Reds are bring up the rear of the flypast so deduct 10-15 mins or more for the time for the leading elements as the further you go out of London the more spread out the formation elements will be to allow for the speed differentials of all the elements to arrive over Buck house close together.

I'm getting Stratford (London) for the Colchester coords and just west of Biggin Hill for the Leyton numbers. What am I doing wrong? Adding in Google maps as (for example) 51.5516,0.005402 which is how it says to present them?

Not at all! Perhaps they just meant to avoid crowds building up along a long announced route

DDMMSS for latitude and DDDMMSS for longitude

Well, considering the last time a Vulcan flew over London was June 1981, you could just as easily show a picture of any of these as well........

Erm. It's a Royal Air Force flypast. The RAF haven't operated the Vulcan for 30 years!
