I am getting a 30ff code when under high load in a high gear, but the stange thing is, I've never had this code before until I did a DIY oil and filters + spark plug change, could they be related or is it just a coincedence?

30FF is generally boost related

I would guess that removing the engine cover has upset one of the vacuum lines (As they are routed nearby, underneath it etc)

I would check those for leaks or splits etc.

30ff is measured air mass to calculated air mass out of range, if you have done work on it, then that would be the first thing I’d check - air filter, air box and vacuum pipes like previously mentioned.

That can also come up due to coked up valves. Is that the only fault code

30FF can be caused by an array of things. Most commonly a split in a vacuum line, faulty boost solenoids or worn/incorrectly adjusted wastegates.

Had a look at the air box, and a couple of the clips were misaligned, so I took it off, reseated the air filter and made sure 100% that I refitted the box correctly. The code hasn't returned, hopefully that was the cause. And I'm not sure what the E46 comment was about, wrong thread I think.

Thanks for the help.

E46 gone! ‘Twas an error.
