06" Ford Focus LX MK2 1.6 Petrol engine noise
Discussion
Hey guys,
Wondering if you can shed some light (if possible) on a problem that's arisen on my car. First off I'm not very car savvy so please keep this in mind.
I've started getting a loud vibrating engine noise when the car is cold. It's hard to explain, like a whirring noise.
Keys in, start her up, idle, noise, no engine/warning lights.
Rev engine, noise is louder, change gears, sound follows gears.
Turn off AC, no change. Not relating to power steering when cornering.
Let the engine heat up, it's a lot quieter/wouldn't know it's there.
The car has been serviced - Oil change, new air filter, oil filter, coolant, spark plugs etc
Any ideas on what it could be? The timing belt doesn't have any visible rips/tears, however the car has recently got 100k so I'm not sure.
Power steering coolant bottle and tubes (not technical, sorry) were changed about 2 years ago
Any input on this would be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards,
Dean
