Go for the one you like the best, the Scirocco is a good steer 2WD really isn't an issue I'd expect a better discount on the Scirocco R as it's being discontinued so I'd be more inclined to go that way plus as you say the Scirocco is a rare sight.

I'd go Scirocco.

Is it the Mk6 Golf? If so, it's the same chassis as the Scirocco and the Mk5 Golf so you're in the same boat either way.

It's it's a Mk7 Golf then I'd go for that all day everyday.

Agree with this. Mk7 is a superior car in every way. To be honest I’d take a mk6 Golf R over the Scirocco too given they’re a rare sight if that’s what you’re after.

Cupra 300 hatch/SC (now 290!) worth considering as alternative 2wd from the VAG stable.

If it's a mk7 R I'd take it over a Scirocco any day of the week. Mk6 R it'd be a harder decision

My choice would be one of the last Scirocco Rs. Now production has stopped and being relatively rare, it should hold it's value quite well.

Drive both and buy the one you prefer...simples smile
