I think it might be the full stop key that's broken.

Get a mechanic to look at it?

Had this a few years ago in my Alhambra while towing our van.

I suggest you pull over and call the RAC/AA/Green Flag.

Mine was a blown turbo pipe underneath the engine hidden by the undertray.

RAC guy managed to do a temp fix with spare parts he had in his van.

Luckily it was on the way home so I booked it into my local mechanic when I got home and he sorted it.

Only cost £120 I think.

Do not keep towing with it.
If turbo sounding rough you don't want a £1000 bill for a new turbo.

You sound well down on power or your caravan is grossly overloaded.

If you've matched your caravan to your car properly (85% is a general rule of thumb) then you shouldn't really struggle up hills to the point of using first gear (unless it's 1:1!).

Does sound turbo related.

People pay a lot of money for a RUF charger smile

Seriously though, you're best getting it scanned to see what codes are stored and which one(s) triggered the engine management light.

Given so many threads here.....even that advice seems like a struggle.

Sell it and move on almost seems easier ! lol

That's your problem. Should have gone for the 14' Sprite Musketeer.

A work colleague had a similar problem. He found it was the turbo inlet pipe had a split where it was convoluted. Ford have apparently modified this pipe and taken a sensor out as well. This necessitates an ECU reflash too.
Best get it diagnosed though.
