a complete stranger gets in....

You have another thirty floors to go...…

Do you:-

a) Just mutter "Hello" under your breath..

b) Strike up a meaningless conversation....."Looks like it might rain later"

c) Strike up a conversation warranting a reply..."What do you think about the situation in North Korea?"

d) Shuffle about nervously, playing with your fingernails and looking down at your shoes hoping that the earth would open up

e) Do a smelly fart with nervousness.

I am a huge Coronation Street fan, and "Reg Holdsworth" got in once and I chose d...….biggrin

It's going to be b) weather AND/OR the world cup. Bojo or Brexit would be too risky (despite starting with a b).

g) wait for the doors to close, turn to them and say "I expect you're wondering why I asked you here today"
h) greet them with a warm handshake and ask them to call you "Captain"
i) draw a chalk outline on the floor and declare it your area

OT but do you ever look at the occupancy rating for a lift and think "8 people in here? Never..."

Keep thinking that, then have you ever been in a lift with a maximum occupancy of two?

I have.

I'm 6'5" and the other person was very short and very buxom. Very uncomfortable, mentally at least.

I work on the 29th floor, luckily we have a TV in the lift to pass the time.

I’ve never felt the urge to talk to anyone, why would you? It takes all of 10/15 seconds.

Option M - If a woman enters the lift you say "going down?" while doing your best Roger Moore impersonation, eyebrow included.

O | With 29 floors to go emit a nose-curdling noxious flatulence sample whilst muttering about last night's curry and your IBS.

As petulant st arse children (I guess about 10 or so) me and my brother would cycle in to town and buy stink bombs. We would then go to one of the lifts in the shopping centres and one of us gently place a stink bomb under foot. We would ride the lift until someone got in who couldn't make good their escape. I remember once a young couple shuffled a pram in the lift, just as the doors were closing you would transfer the weight on to the stink bomb, crushing it then make for the door. Sometimes I would turn just in time to see their reaction as the doors closed. Eyes wide open, tongues protruding, coughing their guts up.

Those were the days. biggrin

Was once at the Leeds Hilton in a lift with a mate and I let go, had been on the beer the night before and waited until the door closed and released it, it was magnificent, I actually wondered if it would set off an alarm, followed up with a couple more for good measure we descended to the lobby level and spilled out, a well dressed couple got in and turned rund and the look of horror on their face as the doors closed will stay with me forever, sorry !
