Random episodes of rectal bleeding

Hi Guys,
I have had a history of haemerhoids and suffer IBS. I've noticed that sometimes in the morning, once every few months, I get up and may feel that my back passage (anus/rectum) is sore, or I try to pass trapped wind and it may feel sore after (possibly an aggravated haemerhoid?). Anyway, a bit of bleeding develops. Not profuse, wet, fresh blood with the distinctive smell, just faint red marks but enough to be concerned about. The bowel movement before this would be fine.
I've spoken to my GP about this and he said it may just be a swollen haemerhoid (I think he meant engorged with blood?). My bowel doctor, who is very good and I have lots of faith in, was not worried either way as the episode clears up in a few hours and everything goes back to normal. In my notes, he suspects this is a fissure or proctalgia fugax (not sure if bleeding can accompany that?).
So I've don the responsible thing and asked the health professionals and not really had a definitive answer, does anyone here have any ideas what this may be?
I've had several colonoscopies, the last one removed a polyp which was a bundle of nerves.

Probably diet related as much as anything.
Are you eating sufficient fibre.

Yep sufficient fibre and fluids hence the bowel movements are ok. Granted if I abuse this I flare up my IBS where I would not feel empty and have two BMs but I have this problem even without.Are you eating sufficient fibre.

So really confused.
Your simptoms seem similar to those I had a few years ago.
Very painful and got worse so sitting,driving etc got difficult.
It was finally diagnosed as an anal fistula.
