Camera Vandalism and Parnership Lies.
Discussion
Often we are told of the benefits of speed cameras by those who have a vested interest in using them on us.
We are also often told that vandalism of speed cameras is putting lives at risk by the partnerships.
Bearing the above claims in mind, i would like to know if there have actually been any recorded incidents directly attributable to vandalism of speed cameras.
Have there actually been any crashes as a result of a camera anywhere having been put out of action?
Surely if cameras are so very effective, as we are always told they are, then a camera out of action for even a short time would lead to an immediate increase in road crashes at its site?
Unless of course its all just another partnership lie.
Editted to say: I cant believe i spelt the name wrong on the title! Arghh!!

Oh, I'm sure they can come up with figures ... of the '45 minutes to launch WMD' variety!
A discussion in a Scumera Partnership somewhere: "I see that camera D8-45 has been vandalised. We need to show that this sort of behaviour is dangerous. Have there been any accidents anywhere along that road since? Yes, I know the A1 is a long road, but who's to know that the accident was 100 miles away from our camera. After all, that's what we do when describing accidents on the M4. We're only 'stretching the truth' a little and it's in a good cause. It shows strong leadership. We need regime change here, motorists must drive slowly!"
