First this isn't for a V40 which has now bitten the dust, but for a 2010 Seat Leon ecomotive 1.6D

Would appreciate a bit of advice with a couple of problems that have just come up. Yesterday the car suddenly got smoky from the exhaust - grey/black, together with a horrible smell. The smoke stopped after a few mins. At the same time, the dashboard lost power (but not the car). That came back on again. I only do short journeys but no smoke on the way home, but the dashboard again lost power for a few seconds - all the dials went off.

Same thing this morning, it wasn't at all smoky, but I can still smell something acrid.
I realise that the smell/smoke is probably a leak, and the dashboard an electrical issue but it seems strange they occurred together.

Any ideas before I get it looked at?

many thanks
