Prostate cancer in Jamaica

Hi all, watched a programme yesterday called Drs behind closed doors (or something like that). Anyway an elderly English man went in to see the Dr about prostate cancer, long story short, the Dr said everyone aged 50 should have it checked every 3 years unless you're from Jamaica, you should have it checked at 40. Why? Thanks
