Hi all, here the thing i have a 1991 pontiac firebird, runs like a dream, however its was left for 3 months while i was working away, when i got back she wouldn't start, spray a bit of easy start fired up great run perfect till i stopped then same again, do you think tbis might be the distributor cap furred up with it being left for 3 month in winter? 😕🤔

Has it still got the old, stale petrol in? If it was winter petrol and has been left standing in the hottest weather we're had for years, you'll probably find you're missing all the volatile fractions that make starting easier.

Trust me, if you are having to "supplement" the fuel to get it to start then fuel is the issue.

If it runs fine once started then it might not be fuel. Does your car have a ballast resistor in the coil circuit? If so the problem may be low ignition coil voltage during cranking.
