I’m waiting in the hairdressers to get my hair cut. Which is something I hate. A bloke has just come in to wait when to all intents and purposes his is perfectly fine and already short.

Why?? I notice quite a few people do this, but my idea of hell. Also annoys me cos these people extend my wait.

You should get annoyed about more important things.

Maybe he was about to go away on business or holiday for a few weeks?

I get mine cut every 3 weeks or so but I went to Aus, NZ and Asia on business for 3 weeks in June and had my hair cut just before going, even though I’d had it done only a fortnight before that. I knew I wasn’t going to have any time in Canberra, Melbourne and Wellington and didn’t fancy getting it done in KL as the previous time I’d done that, I ended up looking like a weird ginger / grey Chinese person

I had my hair cut yesterday (at a barbers, not a hairdresser). I was unlucky enough to walk in just after a father with his three whining sons, who were tired, sweaty and thoroughly pissed off with the idea of having a haircut. Had I been that pussy whipped man, I would have offered the opportunity for a man on his own to jump the queue. This selfish tosser had the fking gall to sit there, trying to placate the spoiled little sts for the best part of an hour altogether, while they whined and bhed through the process of either having their hair cut or waiting for their fking brothers to have their hair cut.

As far as I can see, the OP had a bloke arrive after him that wanted a hair cut, and the OP didn't feel he needed one. I'd have swapped places in a heartbeat, but I don't go to a hairdresser. So it would never happen.

If it makes you feel better, I wait until I can't stand it any longer and then get it all shaved off to minimise the number of trips to the barbers and get the most value for money smile

More to the point. What barbers are open on a Sunday?

I’m in London. They’re always open. It’s 7 quid. You can’t make appointments in these kind of butchers barbers.

My local one is, and a Monday, and in the week he opens 11am -7pm and it’s right by the train station, says that’s 5-7 every night he’s full

Which makes sense really as most people are st work 9/5 so would miss out

I get mine done every 3 weeks, it might not really need doing but it keeps my style and stops my head sweating too much In my hard hat

Either im missing something or youre the selfish tosser given you think your needs are more important than a couple of children who were actually ahead of you in the queue.

I'm not sure if I'm right or wrong. It was three children, not a couple. It seems to me that it's considerate to allow someone who will be in and out in 15-20 minutes to go ahead. If I'm in a queue at a supermarket and someone behind me has a few items while I have a full trolley, I'd let them through. I don't know what barber etiquette is. The barber commented that he'd rather have had the three kids in earlier in the day before they were tired and fractious, and their hair was sweaty and knotted. Before my kids went to wherever they now go to get their hair cut, I'd have taken them on alternate weekends, or after school during the week if possible.

Entitled, maybe. Millennial, definitely not. I'm knocking on 50. I stand by my opinion that it's fking selfish to bring three whining kids to a barber on a Saturday afternoon.

Sorry I think you're in the wrong. You've already said they were hot, bothered and pissed off, yet despite being ahead of you in the queue you expect them to wait longer, get more hot, bothered and pissed off because you a grown man can't wait his turn..

In the centre of the universe that is Reading town centre, I can only think of 1 that isn’t open on a Sunday.

I hate getting my hair cut, I find it such a ball ache and I hate the inane chat.

I am at the stage where I can get away with close crop, so can do it myself with clippers, but also I can have it slightly longer so have to go to the barbers.

I close cropped it at Christmas and it's been like that ever since but the wife recently has stated that she doesn't like it and it makes me look old, personally I think it looks fine, anyway so now I'm growing it back to a length where I'll need to get it cut properly.

Don't feel you should apologise for your opinion. You're perfectly entitled to it, and you may be right. When I had kids that age, I'd have taken them to the barber at almost any other time than 3pm on a hot Saturday afternoon.

Just keen not to offend.

I get that but not everyone has that choice. Plus it's been hot at 3 o'clock every afternoon for nearly 2 months now laugh

It was pretty clear you weren't a millennial from the lack of empathy.

I'm intrigued by the use of the phrase "pussy whipped". Are you assuming the mother forced the dad to do this? Because single-fathers don't exist, do they?
