Audi a5 coupe driving position clutch offset in car??
Discussion
I am curently driving an Astra GTC 2litre diesel. I interested to change to an Audi as I've always liked look of them but never had one, and until yesterday I had never drove one drove one....
So I test drove an Audi a5 coupe manual and couldn't wait to get out of it. Part of the centre of car was away out towards centre of footwell. The clutch position was in line with centre of my seat. With a small footrest to left of clutch. This foot rest was close to centre of the seat also. So I couldn't get my left leg straight even when off clutch as the centre of car design pushed out into the footwell. Why!!!
I could not drive the car.. went for a long drive to see could I get used to it.. But no.. the offset position cause the upper if my body to be unable to stay straight and I was lying over towards the armrest using the armrest as support.
I am really really really disappointed. I loved the car so much everything else about the car was perfect. But not this and it's a complete deal breaker for me.
Can anyone who knows or has experience with Audi help me.. I want Audi preferably but something similar to s5 coupe to look at. But without the footwell issue. Is there such thing? If not in Audi.. What kind of cars could I consider ?
Must be
3door/coupe
Diesel
Lively but not silly economy
Good spec.. auto lights auto wiper parking sensors etc
Preferably sat nav but not imperative
Year 2012 or younger
Can't get over why a brand as well known as Audi would design the s5 coupe like this! So disappointed. I've drove pugeot 306 and Ford focus and Honda civic and Astra gtc. Also drove friends various cars and my parents cars over years too and never in all the cars makes and models that I drove have i experienced what I experienced yesterday!!
