I'm thinking about one of these (the V8 version). Are there any owners local to me either in Teesside or in London, who wouldn't mind a run out?

Happy to cover petrol or beer/food somewherE nice.

Cheers

Awesome cars - do it, you know you want to!
Can't help with the local bit I'm afraid though.

Whereabouts in London do you inhabit?

I'm regularly in Chelsea during the week and live in Orpington - Outskirts of SE London. Happy to take you for a spin if it's convenient.

Regards

Many thanks - YHM

Just phoned my local dealer for servicing costs. I was told that the large services were every 70k (£300) and the intermediates would be £240. Does that seem correct?

Also, to put a Jaguar approved warranty on it would cost a PDI of £190 plus £1227 for the actual cover.

Service costs sound right, but there will always be something on top of the standard service which needs doing.

I have owned two Jags now, one an aged but perfectly conditioned XJ40 and the current a 100k mile XJR. Obviously, I tend to purchase from the lower echelons of the market, but I budget approx. £1k per annual service to keep everything tip-top - that way, I never go over budget

Forgot to reply about the warranty.

I don't know about extending a manufacturers warranty, but my car was 6 years old when I bought it and I spent £1k on an RAC 5* warranty. The requirement is that the car is maintained by an approved, qualified garage - which includes many specialists rather than just main dealers.

If you are after an older car then I would highly recommend it, if it's a newer car then it makes sense to maintain a manufacturers warranty.

Anyway, we'll chat more on Wednesday

Cheers,

Iain

Sorry, Iain, I thought I had responded to this. I'm looking forward to a run out in yours very much.

Cheers

Craig

edited to add that the one I was interested in in Harrogate has gone. 78k miles, engine replacement last year. Looked stunning! It was up for 11k but he had 2 guys arguing over it and eventually sold it for 12k.
