Help finding a registration number

Hello i am new here and looking for some help finding a registration number
I have recently dug out my grandad's old suzuki FR50 moped and have been working on it to get it on the road. Its pretty much ready with new tyres, sprockets ect. although there is one problem, HALF THE NUMBER PLATE IS SNAPPED OFF! (picture below). I dont have any of the old log books or anything either so im pretty much stuck at the moment.
The bike is one of the later 80s models.
I have found the VIN number. (picture below)
I know that it can be retrieved through a HPI check, but i dont know anyone personally who can do one.

If you have acquired a vehicle without a registration number and have
reason to believe it is registered you will need to complete a V62
Application form for a V5C Registration Certificate.
You will need to attach a covering letter explaining the registration
number is unknown but you have reason to believe the vehicle has been
registered. You must also confirm in the letter that the vehicle is
complete and available for inspection.
It is mandatory that the VIN/chassis number is completed on the V62 or the
application will be rejected. Please be aware that there is a charge of
£25 for a V5C.
Please submit the V62 and covering letter to:
V62 Team
DVLA
Swansea
SA99 1DD
Please allow 6 weeks for the delivery of the V5C.
Form V62 can be downloaded
from [1]www.gov.uk/vehicle-registration-certificate-v5c-log-book or
obtained from any tax disc issuing Post Office®.
