Now, I hope this isn't too stupid a question but for the life of me I can't find a way to keep the bonnet open. For the last month I've been finding inventive props to keep the bonnet open whilst I check the levels. I can't find anything in the engine that pops up to prop it open. What am I missing?

There should be a rod on a slider thingy that slots in place at the end of the track - its on the driver's side.

On a similar note - anyone found a better way to keep the bonnet from flapping around at high altitude? Mine sometimes doesn't do anything, other times it lifts a bit on the passenger side.

There should be a pole/prop that slides along on the driver’s side when you open the bonnet, this should slot into a groove once fully extended.

when you have run the pin down the length of the slider you push it downwards for it to lock.

i have a small rubber wedge glued on either side of the bonnet that makes it fit snugly. not sure if this is standard or not as mine was 2nd hand.

Ok maybe this is what i'm missing. It goes up and along the slider but doesn't lock. I'll have a fiddle with it later on. I've been looking for a seperate prop, didn't realise the slider locked..

Thanks everyone
