I am replacing the tyres on my 12C next week as they are the original P-Zero's and although they look like new, they are now 7 years old (car has done VERY little miles) and I have been advised not to risk running them on a 616bhp car!

The car will be under the McLaren extended manufacturers warranty and I have heard differing views on whether fitting say Michelin MPSS (best tyres in my view) or the new Pilot Sport 4's would actually invalidate the warranty.

Can anyone confirm if this is correct as I would much rather fit a current design (and compound) of tyre instead of one that was designed 7 years ago.

You will actually want the Pilot sport 4S as that is the replacement for the supersport. The standard PS4 isn't. I'd also suggest using the PS4S as dimensions wise the rear tyre is a touch less wide than the supersport which may grind into the rear wheel arch liners.

I never had an issue on the warranty running supersports or Cup2s personally.
