As title noticed that the chimaera on acceleration holds back and seems to miss fire on upper part of Rev range 4800rpm-6000rpm (linter is 6200rpm) bit only seems to do this is 3rd and 4th gear pulling away in first and then second car seems to pull cleanly the Rev limiter cuts in around 6 and a bit ,

so the missing is not the limiter feel ? It’s like the odd miss and holds the car back , I thought it was wind buffeting the car at first but have tested it where I can do 1st 2nd gear look all ok only 3rd and 4th (can’t go fast enough to test 5th lol.....)

Running super unleaded as always

Any ideas ? I’ve checked everything is connected correctly

Does it do it whilst engine is still cool.
If not then I’d suspect coil or ign amp breaking down when hot. If it does it from cold possibly a plug extender or loose wire somewhere.
How’s the exhaust wink

Wouldn’t say engine was cool had been running for 15mins or so only noticed as have it the beans fr lights on bypass so open road , as third and fourth at those revs ur flying so suspect not noticed before as mostly (2nd gear and third to a point , so would say engine was warm/hot it was at 7.30 this morning

Thought it was wind buffering at first , slowed down and hit it in second and ran up to limiter clean , third then started to hold back at about 4800-5500rpm then fourth same !

Yes exhaust is awesome love it ! Couldnt have it any other way now has to be opened up that V8

Just wondered if these have a common issue ? And it’s more likely to be a certain thing/part Else it’s checking and changing plugs leads coil ign amp dizzy cap etc

Engine off, jam the throttle pedal down to the stop, check to see if the throttle is actually full open.

Worth checking for plenum leak.
I had exactly those symptoms and when going to remove the coil found the bolt already loose. Removed and resealed the plenum and misfire was cured.
Lots of other places you can get a plenum leak also worth checking.
Good luck.
