Did anyone else watch this program the other evening?

What utter ste. It looked ste from the adverts that i saw but this was another level of ste!

Mainly about a family who set up a food stall and eventually make a very small profit (although i don't recall them telling you exactly how much), although i am guessing probably less than minumum wage.

Oh, that and a woman walking into a gold bullion shop and not understanding how gold could be 'so expensive' FFS.

I think i fell alseep then.

I think the name of the program is slightly misleading...

I saw the thread title and thought "Wish I'd seen that, will have to check out for repeats", then read the post and perhaps not. I like watching stuff like that in my never-ending search for ideas. Still might be good for a laugh though.

Ditto. There was another with the woman from Dragon's Den, Karen Brady. It was just a case of 'We started this' and 'This is what we did' with very little detail. Very disappointing too.

Yes was very disappointed by the 'watch-bait' title of the show, given the poor content.

It's a very odd show, more suited to daytime telly.

The old woman got driven around in an expensive car after speaking to a broker and being told "Tesla is the future"

A young lad bought 500 bottles of water from China and then the multi-millionaire setup meetings with a Spa, a football team and a pub and he sold the lot.

Then back to the granny, he said he made £1000 profit on his Tesla options. High fives all round.

Roll credits.

I thought I was on smack. Couldn't understand how tosh like this gets commissioned.

Reminds me of that show Posh Pawn where people pawn helicopters etc. It's all completely staged. And WD where the cars mostly get sold to the crew/friends etc.

I suspect there is such pressure to get ratings that almost anything can be commissioned if the price is cheap enough

My wife and I are house hunting at the moment and through a mutual friend we were introduced to the idea of going on one of these house hunting programs where the presenter(s) take you around a load of houses advising you and then you decide on one to buy.

Turns out you actually have to search for and buy a house by yourself first, then apply to the show, following a screen test you might get selected to be filmed going around a load of fake/setup appointments with the presenter 'acting' like you are deciding... then chose the one you've already bought anyway.

The 'magic' of television, so I was told.
