Aftermarket Wheels?

Good evening.

Bought a used M4 last Friday from a BMW dealer.

Enquired about the wheel centres not being genuine prior to sale.

Salesman couldn't explain why the wheel centres weren't the originals but was assured the wheels were OEM. See photo.

Wheels are immaculate so suspected there had been some refurbishment carried out.

Wheel centres replaced with the standard blue and white centres prior to collection.

Discs and pads replaced on all four corners by the dealership just prior to my viewing the car.

Having looked at a few M cars one feature NOW jumps out at me: the wheels on my car don't have the M logo normally located next to the wheel centre.

I'm now suspicious.

Three questions:

1. Are the wheels genuine?

2. If they are replacements is there a common problem that would lead to such a scenario?

3. How does this fit with the BMW Approved Used programme?

If they aren't genuine I have concerns about the provenance of the car.

Car has one previous owner.

If they don't have the M logo then either they are fake or they have been diamond cut so many times they decided there was no recess to put them in.

Its easy enough for the dealer to check. It will have the markings and product code on the side of the alloy spokes

Looks,like they’ve been refurbed and the badge not replaced. Is there a rebate in the wheel for the badge to fit in ?

As said, taking a wheel off will reveal the correct numbers on the inner face.

There's a rebate, just no ///M badge.

That’s a fair amount of balancing weight on that wheel too, which would concern me somewhat if it were mine
