Running sonos amps and speakers throughout the house so was just going to get another amp for the garden and run 4 speakers from it.

Seen various unbranded white/black cabinet outdoor speakers and various rock effect.

Will probably tuck them up under the verandas, shed overhangs so won’t be overly visible - but would like them to be able to be cranked up with some decent bass if possible for the odd few times a year we have a party!

This so much.

Only on the weekend I had the TV on in the day (only inside house LED screen speakers nothing more) all the bu folds open and it was on 45 out of 100 which if in the room with it isn’t loud at all infact 75 isn’t loud and is the norm.

Anyway I was at the bottom of the garden in the shed when I came out I could hear the TV Crystal clear and actually fairly loud/intrusive

One idea, especially if neighbours are a concern, might be to have the speakers out in the garden facing back in towards your patio/seating area.

I don’t have anything permanent yet but occasionally set up cheap floorstanders outside for parties - pointing the speakers back towards the house not only dramatically reduces the sound travel but makes a given volume setting seem much louder.

Don't worry I am your typical PH warrior with numerous businesses and acres of land, our closest neighbour is a school and they are not there at weekends and evenings.
But yes when we have parties all the neighbours are invited - we have a party most months at someone's house, the best neighbours we have ever had!

Don't really want to spend £500 on Bose though.

I bought a pair of these:

http://www.audioaffair.co.uk/acoustic-energy-extre...

They are under the eaves and are driven by a Linn amp from Sonos. Very good sound - I don't have neighbours.

I bought them around 8 years ago and they are still sounding great.

Worth shopping around as the link is probably not where I bought them.

My Bose 251s have been mounted outdoors for 15 years now, superb kit. Not particularly expensive either as bought from a factory outlet in the US

If the price is comparable, check out the Acoustic Energy ones I linked earlier - I suspect they're better than the Bose.

The 251 bose have a sub built in or something like that i cant think of the terminology, so they sound nice and deep. Though im sure the Acoustic Energy are pretty similar, they make decent kit.

After reading hundreds of reviews I have gone for the Acoustic Energy listed above - Managed to get 2 for £180.

Hopefully arriving this week so can have a play with them over the weekend.

Slightly soon as the garden is still a building site, at least i can have the radio on while im working!

Excellent - I think you'll like them. They can handle quite high volumes. smile

They have odd-ball connections from memory - I guess for the waterproof aspect.

Mine are playing at this very minute, my son has a few pals around for a beer.

They came today, not ran the proper cable so bodged one of them up with an old piece of sub cable.
Sound was good, nice bass but not too heavy. A bit tinny when turned up but for the garden more than enough.
Might end of with 4 though as even when on 3/4 power couldnt hear them at the end of the garden.
