Gentlemen, (ignoring the MPV haters),
I give you ... my new Shed.
Citroen Picasso 1.6 hdi diesel - 59 plate 138k miles
Full Service History with a wadd of garage receipts and old MOT certificates an inch thick
Pretty tidy, but now the cleaning and tinkering shall begin
Drives great - I'm pretty chuffed for £900 notes.

OP you have my commiserations.
My wife went and bought one once. I wouldn't even go with her to look at it, thinking that she'd drop the idea. She only went and came back with it.
The only pros were spacious and unbelievably good on diesel.
They add 30 years to your appearance the minute you get in one mind.
In all seriousness they serve a purpose, so I hope it serves you well. Good luck with it.

Shed to me is £500 territory. £900 is luxury motoring for a shed :-)
I think I need to take pics later of a proper "shed" to bring a few chuckles. 25k miles so far and £91 spent on new brakes up front in my corrolla 1.8vvt auto. It has burnt through 5 gallons of oil in top ups in that time but was only 400 quid. Very comfortable motoring.

The later DV6 are capable of doing big miles IF they are looked after.
Early ones were awful, turbo feed blocking, injector seals and sludging from poor maintenence.
Later ones don't suffer from this with good servicing.
They have stupid diddy 3.5 litre sump though so new oil every 5-6K is a must.
900 quid thats a bargain and a half tbf they sip diesel.

These get a load of flak but they are GOOD, useful cars!
I've owned one (a 2003 2.0 hdi) and driven many others (mainly work cars)
They are seriously good workhorses! The 2.0 is seen as the more robust engine. The 1.6 (90bhp) however is (in my experience) both nippier and definitely approx 5-10mpg better on fuel in general use.
The best thing is....take the rear seats out - and the load space is MASSIVE! AND the car is nippier with being lighter.
If you just need to move a lot of 'stuff' around a lot relatively economically and comfortably....these are THE ANSWER!
Minus points - need to take seats out and put them somewhere, they are also quite heavy.
We now have a C3 Picasso and it's more modern, more refined etc but despite being a similar size on the outside...it's nowhere near as big in loadspace terms.

Thats nice Sa Calobra. I looked at a petrol one that color. 
To be perfectly honest, I've never been that much of a fan of the shape, and never given them a second glance in the past, but once you sit behind the wheel, you're in a light airy compartment with a great view of the road. I found it a revelation (admittadly I am old beyond my actual years).
Practicality, convenience and comfort now trumps all else for me.
The great fuel consumption, lower road tax and insurance is all a bonus
