Trying to register an import
Discussion
About a year ago I shipped an old Porsche Cayenne (2006) from the UAE, which I had bought cash and registered there. Now that I have been in the UK for a year, the insurance will become manageable on the Porsche so I decided to get it registered.
I have these documents:
Any idea of what I should be doing next?
I have these documents:
- UAE vehicle export certificate.
- NOVA letter & number, so all the customs bits and pieces are dealt with.
- Original UAE vehicle license specifying myself as the owner of the vehicle.
- An MOT for the car.

My 911 is also from the UAE, I didn't need any letter from Porsche to register it. The sticker on the door sill states when the car was manufactured. I assume you have copies of the RTA export cert and even a copy of the RTA gold card thingy as well? EDIT: just re-read that you have the export cert.
I don't think you need anything else?

To register the Cayenne as an import that is over 10 years old you need;
The Original Export Certificate from RTA in UAE
Valid MOT Certificate showing chassis number
Valid Insurance Certificate
Filled in V55/5 form
Proof of ID & Address (copy of photo card Driving License is sufficient)
Check for £55 registration fee plus 6 or 12 months tax.
You don't have to send the NOVA letter as they upload the chassis number as approved to DVLA, but putting a copy in might save any mistakes from DVLA side.
On the V55/5 you declare the data of first registration along with all the other details and they'll send you a V5, takes 14-21 days usually.
