We are away in France down south superhot temperatures in the mid 30C everything fine except we come to my brother in law and notice that the button under each mirror when depressed does not open the door. All the other controls and centre console circular opening switch work and the car locks and unlocks as normal .I suspect a fuse has blown or a solenoid has gone but as it occurs on both doors it has to be something common. I have a small but limited toolkit and can manage as it is until we are home in 10 days time but it’s a pain. Any ideas please??

It’s probably the heat affecting the full operation of the solenoids.
Lift the panels on the B pillars behind the seats and actauate the solenoids manually.
I also spray them liberally with WD40 every now and then.
You can of course get access via the boot .

If you get a small click when depressing the buttons it’s probably the central locking solenoid not releasing fully to allow operation of the door opening mechanism .

Can you hear the solenoids when you push the button, if it's heat related then the solenoids should still operate but fail to achieve full throw

Thanks for responses . There is no sound or response noise from the solenoid when the button is depressed .

Are the locking solenoids still working?

I had the same problem. Non-operation but only in the hot weather. Everything worked fine when the temperature reduced.
Starter solenoids was the issue, as said above. One failed and was replaced, followed by the other 6 weeks later. All fine ever since.

Not really of help to fix your issue but if you mean the knob that you rotate this is a physical link there's cables (like bike brakes) running from that so it will always work.

In answer to responses .The doors appear to lock but I can’t hear any any solenoid noise at all in either locking and unlocking modes. The way I open the doors now is through using the central locking wheel mounted on the gearbox tunnel. I have tried operating the door unlock in the early morning when much cooler but it makes no difference.
