Hi Guys

I replaced the oil and water gauge but found that the oil pressure needle would flicker wildly for a while and then calm down. I decide to replace the oil pressure switch but found that once the coil packs had been removed the oil gauge connection behind the pressure switch was in the way, so I decided to remove the plate that the coil packs were bolted to. Now just suppose I dropped one of the 15mm M6 cap head screws down the gap beside the starter into the clutch housing, do you think this is going to cause a ball ache or is there a solution to the predicament.

Cheers

Nigel

I think you need a magnet, or a long grabber thing and a torch. I wouldn't leave that there since, although it'll probably just sit at the bottom of the bell housing, if you go over a bump it could get kicked up.

Horrible gap that. I usually try and plug it with an old t shirt or something. Same for the gap at the side of the rad after losing the rad bleed bolt under there a couple of years ago.

3 hours it took to fish that back....

As the above, also I hate to tell you this but if you've got the standard gauge the oil pressure switch has nothing to do with the gauge. It simply controls the oil pressure warning light.

You'd be better off checking the oil pressure relief spring located in the pump assembly on the O/S of the engine.
