Trying to get fit - Stretches
Discussion
Hi, I am not obese but one who is a "couch potato" with almost no physical exercise.
I want to start getting fitter as plan of long term plan and I want to start by doing some good stretches everyday.
Any good suggestions for suitable stretch exercises? I know there are plenty of videos on YouTube but wanted to ask if there are any particularly good?
Many thanks

first off...great decision..good for you!
now about that stretching...I wouldn't bother. My advice is to go for regular walks, then after a couple of weeks start to walk briskly...then a couple of weeks later do the odd short jog in the middle of a walk...that is fairly easy on your body, whereas stretching is (in my experience) more likely to injure you. As someone else mentioned get a bike and ride that a couple of times a week too. Your body will hurt at the start...enjoy the pain, it is normal and a sign that you are on the really steep part of the getting fit curve. Try to back off on sugary snacks and drinks, eat well basically...and enjoy it...there is no rush.

Yoga's a good idea if you are asking about stretching exercises (ie haven't an idea of how to stretch).
