There is a company local to us called FDMS who has looked after us for a while now with good rates.

I'm looking to start taking card payments and wondering where to start. There seems to be so many bad reviews out there. Any reason why you want to change from transax?

stripe is getting popular for online payments

Retail Merchant Services (.co.uk) is one that I have heard a few good things about

I use Worldpay for MOTO (phone payments keyed in to a virtual terminal).
For that that I have to pay £15 month to Sagepay for the virtual terminal integration to our CRM, and Worldpay have a minimum monthly invoice of £15, so if I only have £2 in transaction fees to pay, they make it £15! bds.

It's 0.77% on debit cards, 1.44% on personal credit cards and business credit cards are around 2%. They also charge 4p per authorisation.
My turnover for this payment method is small at 8k per year.

Are you looking for online payments or card-holder present type payments? If online payments only then I'd recommend Stripe.

If you mean First Data Merchant Services, they are a huge American corporation, but they do have decent rates.

That'll be them - I've always just known them as the local lot in Camberley.
