Daily for ~£5k with the most comfortable seats?
Discussion
I'll be doing around 100 miles a day with the new job and I need a suitable car. Budget is around £5k. The only thing is I need something with ultra comfortable seats due to having a bad back.
I had a w210 e class and the seats in that were terrible. Everyone who sat in it thought they were quite comfortable, my back disagrees. So not really sure what to do.

My go to when people have back issues is the CLK Sport models as they come with Orthopedic seats with pretty much every adjustment & you can get a nice one in budget, either that or S60/Saab 9-3/E Class but there seats aren't as adjustable.

Or the very rare Avantgarde Sport these had the softer Avantgarde suspension but came with the Sport interior.

Ive had lots of cars, honestly the most comfortable seat was a 2002 Mondeo. Most people swear by Saabs and Volvo;s but im obviously not that shape as i found the XC60 one of the more uncomfortable cars and my old 95 Aero was comfy but no better imho than the cheap ol Ford!
Sit in lots of cars and see what works for you ergonimically speaking. Little little things like good stereo, cupholders, steering wheel adjustment and comfortable elbow spots where important for me when i did 40k in a year (Mondeo)

I concur with a lot of the above... Mk3 Mondeo Seats were lovely.
Saab 9-5 were on a par with the Mondeo but I was expecting more given the hype.
I’ve also had a 2001 V70, a 2005 V70 facelift, and a 2010 XC90.
I maybe taking balls here but the 2005 Seats were amazing.. much better than the 2001, but that may have just been because they were older saggier.
The XC90 Seats are pretty good, maybe a tad too firm though.
All of those seats unfortunately show that the seats in the current X-Trail are s
te. I’ve been spoilt.

Perhaps go to the biggest indoor car supermarket near you and try as many cars as possible? (what I have done)
There are some cars that have seats approved by an orthopedic association - the ones I can remember are the Sport seats in the Mercedes CLK (W209) and the leather seats in the Astra (J/K, usually Elite trim)
It's a pretty subjective process, I find the sport seats in the Astra GTC SRi ideal despite them not having a whole load of adjustability
