Scamera van lay-bys

Does anyone know the legal status of lay-bys built solely for mobile speed traps? A road just round the corner from me has had the rubber strip treatment of late, and now they've put up scamera signs and dug a nice little parking space out of the verge. Does this little hidey hole have any traffic order specifying it can only be used by scam vans? Just wondered what would happen if someone decided to park their car (or dump a skip) in it? Can't see any signs, and presumably it isn't a case of "police vehicles only", as it will be used by an SCP vehicle.

The road is Radlett Road in North Watford, for those in the area - had a look on the Herts SCP site and can't see anything about proposed sites, but that's definitely what it is.

Don't forget a skip needs council permission

Maybe a torched Talivan would be more useful?

Ok, so no skips then. Be a shame if people started dumping cars there though wouldn't it?

I'll have to stroll down there once they've started operating and take a few action shots - I assume they won't mind having a camera constantly trained on them. Be interesting to follow their van and see what speed they do...

I posted about these bloody things, apparently they are to be used by large motorhomes for dumping their toilet waste

So obviously we need to inform this particular community of drivers of these new facilities



They can conveniently be found at the end of nearly every straight section of the A303, dozens of them.
