Wondered if anyone has come across this... I've always had service packs on previous BMWs so never checked the cost of services before BUT when I bought my new one the dealer said not to bother as now they've reduced the mileage from 50,000 to 36,000 - it made sense.
The car needs its first service, oil change. Williams and another dealer are quoting £269 for the first service, BUT I went online, entered the vehicle details on another dealer website and it came up as £69 - all the info matched the car mileage, service icon, age, reg etc. It will even take you through to the booking stage. BUT when I rang the dealer they said that's for cars three years or older (nowhere on the website does it say that, even reading the T&Cs). Besides the BMW website had all of the details and quoted it.
They're now also saying it would be £269 for a first service! Has anyone booked their first service online at around the £69?
It's just an oil and oil filter change so £269 is extortionate! BMW UK are no help as usual whatsoever!!!

Can you screenshot or link the £69? Not to doubt your findings but £69 at a dealers doesn't buy you a whole lot.
£69 sounds more like an 'inspection' or 'visual check' service to me.
£269 doesn't sound like a million miles away from standard dealer pricing for an oil change.

Attached. If the service was around £150 then that sounds reasonable but for the work carried out £269 is ridiculous. If you go through the BMW dealers the prices all vary when using the "book service". This system quotes on your car details.
I'll stick mine in and see what comes out.

Well that is jolly surprising. What site is that?

This one perhaps, it does state that the car must be 3 years old to qualify.I'll stick mine in and see what comes out.

Coming back to your first point , based on my experiences the dealer was wrong in dissuading you from the service pack.
I paid 299£ for inclusive servicing up to the earlier of 3 years or 36k and I’m going to get 2 oil services (already had the first) and the vehicle check.
I thought oil / filter prices were sub 200£ not the 269£ you’ve been quoted but either way a service pack is surely good value.
Is it any good complaining and see if one could be bought retrospectively ?
I’m aware of the site Wills linked and it is for older cars ; I used it for my 2004.

Unlikely a diesel would get two services in 3 years or 36k. Well mine didn’t; 2nd was at 39k, just short if 4 years.
What are we talking about?
X1 20d What are we talking about?
New @ 3/2017
Oil (plus filter) done @ 16,900 miles
Currently showing 4500 miles to both :-
oil (presumably filters again too)
and
“vehicle check”
You have to put you reg in and mileage, so it shouldn't quote if not available for the car.
I didn't bother with the service pack as it didn't seem as good as the old 50k mile one for the price.
It doesn't specify that the the car has to be three years old....
Knights Stafford BMW, click i'm an owner, book a service, enter your reg (mine's a 66 plate, 3 series diesel, 19000 mile) and it quotes the attached. There's nothing in the page that quotes or that you click through that says it has to be older than 3years. It also recognises if you do or don't have a service pack

It's not only Knights it's other dealers around the UK. Some are similar online to what they quote on the phone ie around £200, but Knights and others have these prices. Question is, would they honour it when you turn up? I don't see how they could get away with it as you haven't lied or misled the system, just their system is wrong.

If it's a mistake, then no they don't have to honour it, not a binding offer just an invitation to treat. Smuler said:

5 year, 50k service plan for £425.
The new plan would have been useless.

It seems to be giving a standard price for me (same as Sytners) £215 for the oil&filter and £199 for the oil&filter and micro filter (odd but... :/).I didn't bother with the service pack as it didn't seem as good as the old 50k mile one for the price.

I had mine done recently for that. Book it online; there is a very, very high probability it'll be honoured.
