Wasn't sure where to put this so I've dropped it in here.

I came across this website earlier: http://www.everyoneremembered.org/

website said:
More than 1.1 million Service men and women gave their lives in the First World War so that future generations could live theirs.

Please help The Royal British Legion ensure their sacrifice is never forgotten: find someone to remember and leave a short message to commemorate their life.
There's no charge - you can either search for a relative or commemorate someone random who perhaps doesn't have anyone to do so for them.

Last month I actually visited the graves of two of my descendants who were killed in WW1, given that it's the centenary of the end of the war this year, and via this website I've found another one definite and one possible.

It's not for everyone but I thought I'd share.

Would you believe that of the 1.1 million men killed in The Great War not one of them has the same surname as either of my Grandfathers?!

The nearest matches to my Paternal Grandfather are from the Indian sub-continent which is bizarre as most of his lot are Vikings via Holland.

I had the advantage of knowing the details of those on the side of my family with a fairly common surname, and having an unusual surname on the other side.

I have a brass poppy made from a failed shell fuse that has the details of a soldier killed in action, once the current chaos of my house move has settled I'll dig out the details and remember him smile

Four family members there that I did not know about, despite having a family tree that goes back a very long way! More digging required, thank you!
