Considering buying one of the following 2 cars,

https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...

https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...

but then last night i found this at porsche glasgow and 10k cheaper!!!!

http://locator.porsche.com/ipl-customer/ipl/detail...

Do the bucket seats really demand 10k more? or are the 2 examples i was considering a bit overpriced?
Have i missed something?

looking to do a deal by end of next week and cant see where the extra 10k is going other than the seats and air con?

I was looking intensively at Spyders before I bought my GTS.

I do think lack of buckets narrows the market. Is it really worth £10k ? Probably not. Pretty sure that blue one at Glasgow has been on sale for a while now, and has been reduced.

Interestingly, think there have been consistently 10-12+ spyders on sale in the OPC network for the past 6-7m at least.

will be interesting to see if the 911 virgin car or the rpm teknic car will have much movement on price, cant get my head around a Porsche dealership car being so much cheaper than the specialists....i will speak to all 3 on Monday, i like the gts but it is too similar to the car i have now (981 s fully loaded with pdk, ptv, sports exhaust etc... really like the looks of the spyder especially in blue.
Anyone on here bought one in the last 3 months? What should i be paying? The price of these i know has dropped a fair chunk, as i remember seeing them at 85 - 90k albeit a while back. The Porsche car at 69k with all the warranty back up etc is very tempting.

thanks for your input, am very stubborn when it comes to colour, would have to be blue, black or gt silver only. Just looked at some pics of guards red ones and does look the part, just not for me, cant understand why everyone likes white so much...always bemused me.
Also cannot stand the black wheels most seem to have, bright silver for the wheels.

Am with you Lamborghini on white and wheels. At least you can have the wheels re-done in silver if need be.

Just noticed the Glasgow car does have air con....so i think is only missing the bucket seats and extended leather but has 4k miles less and 2 years full warranty and 9.5k cheaper! If they budge a tiny bit on price and spray the wheels i'm in!
Can anyone point out what i am missing?
Location maybe.....just cant see why so much price difference.

Spec is key on any Porsche vs price.

It's missing the 3 big resale things hence it’s cheaper.

Pcm
Leather
Buckets

It is what it is, a car can have £25k options easy or none. That then makes the 7k difference look poor value on the cheaper car.

Base spec on these is ok though, they all drive the same, so depends what you want.

When you come to sell you realise 2nd hand buyers want it all.

Spec. Spec. Spec.

Look at the next cheapest on the OPC used car locator - GT Silver (more desirable colour than Sapphire and probably the most desirable). And most importantly, on a Spyder - Classic Interior Pack. Not to mention less than half the miles and only 1 owner.. for only £3k more. To me the Sheffield car is the best value, by more than the £3k margin they are asking.

Thank you guys, going to view the Sheffield car today.....not sure how I missed that one!
Other than paint to sample cars, whats the most desirable colours on these?

It's all down to your personnel choice ...I have 2 RED ones and would go for another the same colour think the colour suits that style of car .
GT Silver is nice but again personally do not like the Classic interior ..its your hard earned cash go for what suites you ,there is a bum for every seat .I have heated seats on the 981 and never used them so no big deal for me but other may say must have ,agree about wheels wish I had went for Silver instead of Satin and Black is a definite no no ,but for £300 you can easily change the colour .Good luck on your test drive you will love it .

My thoughts based on the last 18 months of ownership; buy the car that best suits YOUR ownership profile - e.g if you only plan to keep the car for a short time then buy one that the market perceives is more commercial so you can move it on more easily. If you plan to keep it then you can be more choosy on colour, seats etc.
Beware of the key board warriors on here who tell you what a car must and mustn't have - there's a buyer for every car at a price - just factor that in. You should try the seats if you don't have experience - buckets can be less comfortable for some - but then again if you're not driving distances this might not be an issue.
If you can find one with N1 tyres then these seem to be better than N0 - certainly less prone to cracking, but you'll change them at some point if you keep the car anyway. Unless you drive the car at the ragged edge or are a driving god you'll reach your own limits before those of the car on the road. Reversing camera is the one option I would not be without - you cannot see behind. PCM is useful for connectivity etc but personally not a dealbreaker, ditto climate control - I've seldom used it. All the other bells and whistles are down to personal taste and I wouldn't spend much time trying to predict what a future owner might want or expect - as you can see on any of these threads whats a 'must have' for one person is irrelevant or a 'deal breaker' for the next.
If you keep the car outside or use it in all weathers you might want to think about the practicality of the roof otherwise its fit for purpose.
Mine was resprayed on the front, bonnet and side sills - I've had PPF applied and it looks like new still - find one with this if you can or seriously consider having it done post purchase.
Bought mine sight unseen for the asking price because it had what I was looking for in colour and spec - likely to be keeper unless the new Spyder is a significant improvement, I think most long term owners are in this place too.
For me not an investment - I don't believe any car in this price bracket can be - probably won't cost me too much either, but that depends on a lot of factors that I cannot control or predict (how many GT4 or Spyder owners predicted that the car would still be selling at or above list price 3 years on I wonder?). I imagine prices are softening a bit as dealers don't particularly want soft top stock going into Autumn/ Winter and given the cost of money there'll not be too much difference to finance a new one.
So in short buy the car you want at a price that reflects its specification and you won't regret it - its a good car and there won't be too many more like it in the future it seems.

I agree with what’s been said, I’ve had mine since April 30th, paid £78k from OPC notts, I agree with the reversing camera, mine doesn’t have it, it’s not easy to reverse into a space. The 918 buckets are fantastic though, so comfortable, mines got alancatata which I love others hate it. I love the carbon fibre also. The car itself is epic, I’ve never felt like I’ve had a keeper before but not sure how you replace it without going over 100k, the noise is fantastic, the looks with the roof off are to my eye perfection like a mini Ferrari!
