Good online shoe stores?
Discussion
I need a couple of pairs of shoes for work and a day in Birmingham yesterday resulted in nothing but disappointment.
I could take an afternoon and go over Northampton to some of the outlets but would like to exhaust online options first.
Are there any (not so) hidden gem online stores?
Looking to spend up to £150/pair but want something that will last which is where the outlets might come in.

No hidden gems unfortunately for decent shoes, with the exception of Meermin: www.meermin.esI could take an afternoon and go over Northampton to some of the outlets but would like to exhaust online options first.

Spanish company that manufacture good quality shoes with prices from £160 euros. Have a look at the site and speak (email) to them about last recommendations, providing that you can give them good foot measurements.
In terms of British shoes, Loake 1880 range is now £230 (£40 increase from when I last bought a pair in 2013). You can probably find Loake L1 for your price point, but obviously not as good leather, finished in India, etc.
Try herringshoes.co.uk or pediwear.
I'm out of the menswear scene because my partner doesn't like formal menswear attire, and I have suits, shoes and ties that I no longer wear (I dress business casual in my role - NHS). But I gather that pricing has generally headed north, and quality has headed south - especially Churches. The acquisition has only accelerated the slide in quality - only need to see some of their ranges to understand their new demographic.

Thanks, already looked on Herrings and Pediwear and as you say it does look like prices have headed north.I'm out of the menswear scene because my partner doesn't like formal menswear attire, and I have suits, shoes and ties that I no longer wear (I dress business casual in my role - NHS). What I think I've noticed is there's no obvious middle ground between cheap crap and the expensive stuff, and unless the factory shops have some bargains that may be where I'm left, mostly because I simply can't justify that kind of money.
Wondering if the likes of Geox, Anatomic and Steptronic fill that void in quality terms (not interested in marketing/branding)?
Oliver Sweeney have a clearance on at the moment

I love JW shoes but I’m not sure I’d describe anyvas normal.
If I want normal and affordable I go to Samuel Windsor.
I’ve probably had 6-8 pairs and the value can’t be beaten.
Interesting as I read mixed things about Samuel Windsor and I'm always a little cautious that they're always stupidly cheap i.e. £50 for the "premium" range If I want normal and affordable I go to Samuel Windsor.

What did you buy??
Two pairs of Cheaney's Oxford's and a pair of Barkers Brogues.I love the Cheaney factory shop but I think there's an element of luck what they have in and thank goodness they had something that fitted and was nice enough to want to buy - no point buying just because it's cheap.
Pretty proud of the haul and the savings tbh

I need to go to the factory shops. Trouble is I have a collection of Herring/Loakes, some of which have lasted 6 years and still look good - can't justify another pair otherwise I'll be veering into small-scale Imelda Marcos territory.
My advice based off 2 visits would be to avoid Church's unless you want to be paying £250/pair.Maybe it's my shoe size as I didn't look at all the stuff that wouldn't fit, but both times I've been that seemed the normal price.
Barkers and Cheaney's seem more like outlets if you're bargain hunting. Pretty sure Loake don't have a shop/outlet.
