This is one of those if I win the lottery type there's. But...

I'd buy a big workshop and just build stuff .

On my list would be.

A jensen interceptor with a mercedes v12 biturbo lump 7 speed.box and hydro suspention.

Scimitar se6 a with jag super v8 running gear.

And tvr cerbera running an m5 v10.

Having owned and or driven all the cars/ engines in question I feel that they would be the perfect mix of style and power.

So post up your perfect resto-mod body and power plan?

I love the idea of a mark 2 Uno Turbo in red with an abarth 500 engine, sorted chassis and a set of those lovely 6 spoke OZ wheels they look good on.

I'm probably alone in my choice of car here!

I was with you up to that point. That sounds like a mis-match to me.

I think I'd like a Mk2 Jag, with a supercharged 5.0 V8, brakes, suspension etc, but keeping the original interior as much as possible.

Try and find yourself a Beecham, that's nearly what you're after. I'm not sure they've done one with the 5L engine, but they did them with the 4.2.
I didn't think their Mk2 looked quite right personally. I felt it looked a bit like someone had balanced a Mk2 body on top of a bigger car. Their E-Types looks a lot more convincing.

Bozwell was doing a Honda S600 (IIRC) with the engine of an S2000, I bet they seriously moves.

One that you actually stand a chance of getting through BIVA without it ending up a dogs dinner.........

Which means I can't think of one anymore.

Dammit, that's *my* lottery win plan.

Although mine was to do stuff that makes little financial sense or actual sense but "just because it would be fun".
Make a new Mazda 6 MPS out of the later 6 and a mk3 Focus RS for example.
Or making an awd 350hp+ Mondeo using the Mk2 Focus RS engine and Volvo bits.
Or just fit v8's into inappropriate cars.

Utterly nonsensical as you could just buy an Focus RS or a BMW M5 and they would probably be far better...but it would be fun to do and with a lottery win wouldn't care about the money.

I do rather like this RB26 powered 240Z though.

EDIT: Really should have read the entire thread first rofl

Or turn that idea around, why not upgrade a M5 by fitting the TVR V12 so that it would really move. Better yet, flip around the normal badging behaviour and put a set of 520d badges on the boot.

Quite. It totally spoils my fantasy to build a Subaru flat-four powered 2CV, with extended arches. And a supercharged LS V8 powered Tesla.

However, I'm now at that stage in life where I need to grow and then scratch a beard, and grumble about things that are "not original."

My resto mods are simple - I'd like to get the rust removed and a respray for both of my cars (BMW 523 and VW Bora).

Come my lottery win this week, I'll be off down to Bill Shepherd to place an order for a RHD (I know it's the wrong side...) Mustang. They already build my new 'old' dream car.

Have you realised that the wheelbase of a 2CV and a Caterham are within a 13mm of each other .
Ergo if it fits in a Caterham it fits in a Caterham with a 2CV body .
Most of the bits are being assembled at a mates workshop .
Locost chassis and running gear , 2CV with rotten floors and a jag S type 3.0L V6 manual .
He has history for the unusual and they all have worked very well .

Especially the turbo wankel engined single seater March racer .
