Used car -repairs, inconvenience
Discussion
Hopefully a simple one this; bought a used car from a dealer and noticed parking sensors not working.
Bought just two weeks ago but from a dealer some miles away.
I'd be happy to ask a local garage or electrician to sort it and the dealer pay; however, I don't want to take it all the way to the dealer.
If they insist on doing it themselves can I ask them to collect the car?

Not yet. Just wanted to know my rights etc in case they place the burden on me.
Hoping they will be ok about it, but just in case.
It was you who chose to buy the car from a dealer a good distance away. Asking you to bring the car back for repair is perfectly fair. Hoping they will be ok about it, but just in case.
Expecting them to spend hours to collect the car or them having additional costs of paying someone to do the repair is not.

Yes, I chose to buy it from them, but I thought I read I should not be significantly inconvenienced if it comes to a repair?
What do you class as significant inconvenience? Simply driving back to where you bought the car? How far away is the dealer?
It is only fair that the dealer gets his chance to repair the fault. Burdening him with additional costs and expenses isn't fair.
I take it the sensors originally worked?
It will be down to you to return the vehicle to the dealer.
They may agree to you getting it repaired locally but this is not the normal route dealers take.
If it were me and the distance to the supplying dealer was too far then I would just get it done by a local garage and just move on.
If you do take it back to them you will need to factor the amount of time they need to do the repair and the possibility of having to leave the vehicle.
