Just wondering where your money would go on the above cars if you had around £25k to spend.
Im drawn towards the 5 pot motor as it’s supposed to be a peach and a little bit different to the 4 pots in the Golf etc.
The RS3 would be my favourite at the moment due to being slightly more practical.
Be interested to know if anyone has owned some or all of the above.

had 2016 saloon s3 in manual, very engaging and very practical. But not practical enough was actually quite tight inside and was sick of manual. Very fun and good mpg if driving normally. didn't have any real issues other than oil consumption, and the odd attempted theft.

mate of mine had a 8v rs3 , lovely sounding engine, I remember him complaining about the cost of changing the ceramic brake discs and pads.

The 8V RS3 hasnt got ceramic brakes, never a UK option. The original cars from 2012 had ceramics as an option.

The TTRS' seem to hold value the best out of each. Assuming you're referring to the last gen ones.

I personally think they're the most special of the 3 mentioned due to being a small sports coupe. Obviously practicality isn't great.

The trade off here would be that for the price of a Mk2 RS3 or TTRS you could get into a Mk3 S3 which is likely to be more reliable and is a nicer place to sit.

For me it would have to be the TTRS, nicer interior than the RS3 with that glorious 5pot.

TT RS all day long mate. If you get a manual one then it'll be cheaper overall but may not hold it's value as much as an stronic. 100% will hold onto their value better than an S3, maybe the RS3 as well. The TT RS are bulletproof too. 44k miles on mine and nothing has gone wrong with it.

But it all depends on your situation and style. The TT RS is a lovely place to be, has a GLORIOUS sound and can be easily customised if you do choose to do that.

I may be biased though.

Never owned any but I'd choose TTRS. Don't need the additional seats/space from a hatchback and couldn't choose a 4 pot over the 5cyl RS models.

I say practical but I just need room to strap a child seat in it. Not sure if that’s possible with the TT.
